1. Certificate Waivers

PWOL BYU-I Information
For students on catalog years 2023 and prior:

  • To qualify for a certificate waiver, students must be part of the Professional Studies Degree and have 75+ eligible transfer credits.

For students on catalog years 2024 and higher (the “Three-Year Degree”):

  • Students must be part of the Professional Studies Degree and have 30+ eligible transfer credits.

Transfer Credits Criteria:

  • Transfer credits must be earned from universities other than BYU-Idaho as part of the Online Certificates and Degrees program.
  • Ensign College credits taken through BYU-Pathway Worldwide are not included.
  • Former BYU-Idaho or Ricks College residency credits must be 10 years or older from the student’s date of admission to the BYU-Idaho Online Degree Program.
  • A combination of these options must total 75 credit hours or more (for 2023 and prior catalogs) or 30 credit hours or more (for 2024 and higher catalogs).

Note: The option for a second certificate waiver was eliminated during Fall 2022 and is no longer available to students who did not already have a second waiver applied before it was discontinued.

See ADV - Calculating a Certificate Waiver for details. Students with unusual or extenuating circumstances can request a waiver through the Exception to Graduation Requirements process.

 

2. Internship Waivers

PWOL BYU-I Information
Internship waiver requests will no longer be processed by BYU-Pathway Worldwide for students on BYU-Idaho degrees. This applies to all catalog years, as students now have project/capstone options available.
